The title of “Star of the Show,” however, has to be given to the young actor portraying Ariel (Leeth Singhage), who left the viewers in awe with his perfect characterisation of the airy island spirit; light on his feet and magical in his movements. Add to that his singing capabilities, which left the audience with goosebumps every time he sang…
The actor skilfully weaves the personal with the political into a sparkling and lively tale… Intertwining slick comedy with heart-breakingly beautiful songs… Leeth’s passion for acting is infectious.
Arguably the most compelling artwork featured was the one (and a half) man show put on by 19-year-old Leeth Singhage.
The show was incredibly immersive and self-aware, as seen in the cheeky scene transitions. There was an instance where the audience was teleported to Sri Lanka but remained stuck there due to an electrical outage
One of the highlights is Singhage’s remarkable aptitude at multi-roling… using a simple prop of a rolled-up sarong… Charming and hilarious, and you are immediately invested in the journey Singhage is making.
A special mention should be made of Leeth Singhage… whose consistent energy and impressive vocal performances were beyond commendable.
Comedic highlights included Singhage… [who] earned the audience’s laughter when he ate leaves off the ground and stared people down with wild eyes.
Impeccably professional… their voices are amazing, especially Friedrich (Leeth Meth Singhage), he has a deep voice!
